Facial Rejuvenation

Facial Acupuncture...

Facial acupuncture is a holistic therapy that slows down the aging process of the Face. In Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM), the face tells a story about a person’s health, and each area of face relates to different organ systems and emotions. E. g., after many nights of poor sleep, puffiness and dark circles are likely to show up under the eyes.

Similarly, years of scrunching eyebrows inward due to frustration or intense concentration will create lines between the eyes. Visible facial aging comes from several sources. Internal health problems, such as hormone imbalance and organ dysfunction, affect the quality, hue and texture of the skin, while repetitive facial expressions caused by long-term emotional patterns create lines and wrinkles.

Before age 25, the face reflects genetic constitution, but from 25-50, your facial map is influenced by your lifestyle and habits. After 50, the face exhibits the state of health. Our goal with facial acupuncture is to balance the internal health and eliminate the unwanted signs of aging.

Facial acupuncture works by piercing the skin with tiny dermal needles, resulting in “positive” micro-traumas that increase circulation to the face, and boost the production of collagen and elastin to tighten skin. Facial acupuncture is the ultimate anti-aging treatment because it balances our internal systems while simultaneously boosting the health and appearance of the skin, without any side effects.

The best age to start with...

It is always good to start early, before the signs of aging have really taken hold. As the age progresses, the collagen starts to decline and it involves the fighting against the aging process by stimulating collagen. Starting in late twenties and early thirties is ideal, however it is never too late to start because it boosts the look and health of the skin, and that is beneficial to everyone.

How Facial Acupuncture Works:

Facial acupuncture works in all the areas in need by stimulating qi and blood flow throughout your face. The gentle insertion of dermal needles directly into the dermis of the skin on the face causes increased qi and blood flow to the area. This helps stimulate important collagen and elastin production. One of the initial benefits of facial acupuncture is a softer and more relaxed face. Expression lines will also soften as the emotions are addressed, and puffy eyelids will decrease as the internal factors are addressed. Treating the root cause of the problems / symptoms provide a long-term health enhancements.

Gravity is another contributor to the aging process. Further to decline of elastin, collagen;and muscles fatigue, the gravity force further adds to droopiness. Increasing the qi and blood flow to the face helps combat sagging cheeks, mouths and eyelids. Using acupuncture points that corresponds anatomically with neuromuscular junctions can stimulate muscle tone and support droopy areas of the face from the muscular level. Facial acupuncture doesn't lead to muscle paralysis, your face will achieve natural, unique beauty rather than a homogenized look.

Facial Acupuncture v/s BOTOX

Botox is derived from the botulism neurotoxin, which use to reduce wrinkles and expression lines by paralysing the muscle below the wrinkle. This works to reduce the wrinkle and minimizing the ability to express emotions fully on the face.

Conversely, facial acupuncture reduces lines and wrinkles by increasing the tone of facial muscles, literally flattening them out. Both acupuncture and botulinum neurotoxin have comparable efficacy, but the effect of muscle paralysis exerted by botulism neurotoxin has a stronger effect in reducing lines and wrinkles. However, the key advantage of acupuncture is that it can reduce lines and wrinkles whilst preserving the ability of the patient to use their facial muscles/make facial expressions. It can increases the production of collagen (Lu 2008) which helps to fill lines and increase the overall skin tone of the face over a longer period of time.

LaserTherapy

Laser Skin Rejuvenation is a non-invasive treatment that uses light energy to gently stimulate natural collagen growth, improve pores, remove irregular pigmentation and reduce fine lines and wrinkles. Laser stimulates collagen production in our skin, and as new collagen is generated, lines and wrinkles are decreased. Additionally, as the laser light penetrates age spots and other pigmentation, these areas are broken apart and absorbed into the skin. Patients report, and studies have also confirmed that laser skin rejuvenation results in a refreshed appearance, smoother skin texture, an even skin tone, and a decrease in pore size.
