Moxibustion

The burning of a special herb on or near the skin is called Moxibustion. The material is called "moxa". Moxa is the aged, dried leaves form the mugwort plants that usually grow in the hillside areas. When it burns the temp. at the tip is around 600 0C. It burns very slowly so that the heat can penetrate deep down to the acupuncture point.

The Therapeutic Functions of Moxibustion
1) Adjusts the Central Nervous System functions (i.e. activation and sedation).
2) Promotes the metabolic functions of the body.
3) Activates the phagocytic actions of some white blood cells, which will also increase in certain amount to fight against infections.
4) Stimulates the production of Erythrocytes (Red Blood Cells)
5) Increases the Immune system's functions.
6) Improves the local circulation of Qi and blood flow.

Cupping Therapy

Cupping is an ancient Chinese method of causing local congestion. A partial vacuum is created in cups placed on the skin either by means of heat or suction. This draws up the underlying tissues. When the cup is left in place on the skin for a few minutes, blood stasis is formed and localized healing takes place.

Cupping therapy has been further developed as a means to open the 'Meridians' of the body. Meridians are the conduits in the body through which energy flows to every part of the body and through every organ and tissue. There are five meridians on the back that, when opened, allow invigorating energy to travel along the whole length of the body. It has been found that cupping is probably the best way of opening those meridians.

The cupping is used primarily to treat respiratory conditions such as bronchitis, asthma, and congestion; arthritis; gastrointestinal disorders; activate the lymphatic system; clear colon blockages; clear stretch marks and certain types of pain.

Blood Letting

Qi is vital energy circulating in the body. When Qi or Blood flow stops or becomes fully obstructed the pain is produced. Blood letting is the process of purposeful puncturing and removing blood from the affected area. After puncturing the skin, the blood should be removed out with some force so as to have quick action.

The cupping method is used for this purpose. Blood letting treatment is useful for very serious painful conditions. Ayurvedic practitioners also follow similar treatment from ancient times and it is known as "Rakta-moxan".

The application of blood letting:

High Fever, throbbing and fixed pain due to falling from height, Pain due to excessive stretching, emotional problems, migraine headache, Trigeminal Neuralgia, Toothache, Pimples, Hot feeling, malnutrition in children, Rheumatoid Arthritis, Fracture of ribs leading to extreme pain in any movement, Psoriasis, Knee joint inflammation, Sore throat, allergies, shoe bite.

Acupressure

Acupressure is similar to acupuncture, except no needles are used. Acupressure utilizes pressure from fingers and hands. Acupressure deals with all the aspects of a person as a whole: body, emotions, mind, and spirit as one, not as separate parts. It relaxes muscular tension and balances the vital life forces of the body.

Acupressure stimulates the meridian points to reduce muscle tension and pain. Activating pressure points encourages the brain to release natural painkillers called endorphins. Endorphins go directly to the places you need pain to be released and help you lose your tension.

Thumbs, knuckles or fingers are used to apply pressure on the points. The points are pressed and then released. The pressure duration varies from 3 seconds to few minutes.

AMMA Therapy

AMMA Therapy, also known as Amma massage. It is a therapeutic healing massage. Based on traditional Chinese medicine it is a form of Bodywork Therapy, which focuses on the balance, and movement of the life force energy known as Qi within the body. The aim is to remove blockages and free the flow of energy throughout the body, thereby restoring, promoting, and maintaining optimum health.

The benefits of Amma therapy

AMMA Therapy has been used for many thousands of years to treat and prevent many illnesses, including breathing problems, intestinal problems, joint and bone deficiencies (such as arthritis), and more. Other benefits include better overall health, increased energy as well as a stronger immune system resulting in longer life.

Gua Sha Therapy

Gua (gwa), meaning to scrape or extract and Sha (shaw), meaning sand or toxins. It is a traditional ancient Chinese healing technique that dates back over two thousand years. This ancient method of promoting Chi or bioelectric vital life energy, blood circulation and removal of toxic heat, stagnant blood and lymph fluid from the body is an extremely important, almost miraculous method of improving ones health. Qi is the constant and vigorous movement of energy or life force that keeps us healthy and alive.

Benefit from Gua Sha treatments can help the persons who suffer from chronic pain, excess systemic toxicity, Poor circulation, Lymphatic congestion, Inflammation, Fatigue, Infections, Physical or emotional stress.

Sujok Therapy

Su Jok Therapy invented by Prof. Park Jae Woo an eminent Korean philosopher and scientist. Su Jok Therapy is a new approach to treatment. Su Jok Therapy, a part of ONNURI MEDICINE is a system of treatment comprising of a variety of techniques to prevent and cure illness and restore health without any drugs. The theoretical basis of this system of Healing is the discovery of self-regulation Homo Energy System of Human Body whereby each Hand and foot and other locations of Human body carries information of each parts (organ) of human body. The Hands and Feet structurally being the most similar body parts to the Human Body, these corresponding micro points/areas can therefore be used most conveniently and effectively as remote controls to treat any diseased organ/part in the human body.

Shiatsu

Shiatsu can be used to treat a variety of problems such as insomnia, headaches, anxiety, back pain, constipation, skin irritations, etc. Shiatsu improves health generally by relieving stress, calming the nervous system and stimulating the circulatory and immune systems.

However, through its stimulation of the hormone system shiatsu can also affect the digestive and reproductive systems. Apart from bringing relief to symptoms, shiatsu gradually corrects long term postural and behavioral imbalances leading to improved body / mind awareness and a general sense of well being and peace of mind.

It is possible that one session of shiatsu will be sufficient to remedy the problem by stimulating the flow of energy along the channels. This may be followed by recommendations for regular exercises and a possible change in diet and/or lifestyle.

Shiatsu invokes a general feeling of good health in the whole person, not just in the physical sense. Both, giver and the receiver of shiatsu are benefited on a physical & spiritual level.
